Buyer Beware fo the Jeff Benton Warranty Process I purchased a home and really liked the process JB used to ensure that a well made house is constructed however; I have come to realize that Jeff Benton Homes is in it strictly for the money. On a walk through of the house prior to closing, I noticed a tree in the front yard that was dying. I mentioned this to the project manager and he assured me the tree was healthy. Two weeks after closing the house, I put in a work order through their system to replace the dead tree in my yard. They said that they don't warranty the landscapeing. Now, I have to incur the expense of removing and replacing a tree. I also had a work order put in for a window that was broken due to the construction trucks going up and down my street. They are saying that the broke window is not a warranty item. Buyer beware! I have two folks moving down here from VA and MD and I have steered them away from JB homes. Wonder what else will happen that they don't fix. LET THE BUYER BEWARE - Check Multiple Reviews of this Builder In my opinion, I would NEVER BUY ANOTHER HOME FROM THIS BUILDER OR COMPANY. I agree with another reviewer that they will fix minor issues, but if you have anything close to being major, they will balk and not stand behind their shoddy workmanship. I've had an issue for nearly six months that was presented to them at time of walkthrough that they will not correct. During this time they have continually dodged resposibility. I have found that some of the employees appear to be less than honest. If you are thinking about buying a home in one of the JBH community, think twice.
