Over 15 City Code Violations in 1 apartment!!! I have lived here for 2 years. There are Pros and Cons just as with any place however for Stonebrook Apartments the Cons far outweigh the Pros. Here are just some of Cons: * My apartment building is cracked and there are indoor foundation cracks as well as floor drooping. * People let their dogs run loose. * Everything in the apartment, appliances, heating and cooling system, windows, fixtures... are all original to the apartment which dates back to the 60's/70's and therefore not energy efficient at all. * The management and staff changes every 2-6 months. * Nothing ever gets fixed, my shower has been broken since I moved in. * My air conditioner had been broken for over 2 weeks, I was told that there were over 40 other residents without AC and that parts would be in on Monday. The same thing I was told about my shower 2 years ago. Yet with every Monday, it's always "next Monday for sure." * They turn the water (which is barely a trickle on normal days) off without notice for ... I have lived here for 2 years. The ones that do have screens are broken, ill fitting screens that pop out if you touch them. * The window sills are rotted out. * It rains inside the apartment. * Ants infest the kitchen through the gaped old (original from the 70's) windows and under the door. * In the winter the apartment is as cold as it is outside and the heater breaks down. * In the summer it's so hot you can't breathe. * Maintenance knocks and then immediately uses their keys to enter your apartment, which is very unnerving if you live alone or have pets. * The buildings have never really been maintained themselves so even though you get new paint and carpet when you move in, the core of the apartment is really not in good shape. The Pros: * The current office staff is really nice (aside from not even trying to fix anything). Beware, this changes every few months as management changes. * There is now 24 hour security and they have helped to keep things quieter and can be seen patrolling rain or shine, day and night. * Some of the shadier residents have been evicted so a lot of the noise and scary stuff has stopped.
