( More)" Beware - Bait and Switch scheme on credit card I took out a Visa card through AFCU earlier this year that I was told that for as long as I had the card would remain at a 6.99% fixed rate...even if I decided to just stop paying on it. The branch manager informed me that there was absolutely no way that the rate could/would be increased. When he printed out the terms and conditions for the card, I questioned a paragraph stating they could change the interest rate and he told me not to worry about it. Stupidly, I believed him. Today I received a letter in the mail from AFCU stating that they were going to change my fixed rate card to a variable rate contrary to what I was told when I opened the account and all of their advertising stated. The letter was written in such a manner to imply that they were actually doing me a favor by making the change. Upon visiting my local branch the person I dealt with printed the terms and conditions and then high-lighted the paragraph dealing with their ability to change the interest rate. IN MY ...
