A good lesson riviera village was my first venture as an adult, which has greatly made me cautious with every new move since. the roaches were so bad that i'd bring home food, put it on the counter and there'd be atleast one moving towards my bags. almost every two weeks, i'd get a notice saying to be ready for someone to spray for bugs which would keep me out of my place until 6pm sometimes, but a few days later, the roaches would be back. parked my truck on one side of the complex and in the span of 4 months, someone smashed my drivers side window, taking everything inside, coming back the next night to try for the cd player they failed to take out, broke the back windows of my truck for no reason and on more than one occasion have my gas get syphoned out with the gas cap still on the hood. the walls were so thin that i couldnt escape the noise. i'd hear one neighbor while in my bedroom, another neighbor blasting music at 3am in the kitchen, and another neighbor yelling at their kids in the ... riviera village was my first venture as an adult, which has greatly made me cautious with every new move since. the roaches were so bad that i'd bring home food, put it on the counter and there'd be atleast one moving towards my bags. almost every two weeks, i'd get a notice saying to be ready for someone to spray for bugs which would keep me out of my place until 6pm sometimes, but a few days later, the roaches would be back. parked my truck on one side of the complex and in the span of 4 months, someone smashed my drivers side window, taking everything inside, coming back the next night to try for the cd player they failed to take out, broke the back windows of my truck for no reason and on more than one occasion have my gas get syphoned out with the gas cap still on the hood. the walls were so thin that i couldnt escape the noise. i'd hear one neighbor while in my bedroom, another neighbor blasting music at 3am in the kitchen, and another neighbor yelling at their kids in the living room. that plus the constant trains kept me up most nights. had to sleep at a friends place on more than one occasion just to relax. during the initial walk through, it was noted that the dishwasher didnt work and it would be fixed. months later, and a number of calls later, it still wasnt fixed. everything felt like it had been left over from the 80s or the management had bought it at a yard sale. only good things i liked about the place was the gym and the candy machine. im not sure why theres so many positive reviews on this place but my guess would be that either a) they're actually the management b) they have the wrong place or c) they think the ghetto is a lovely place. hell, i visited a friend in a complex across town and was shocked that she was paying the same rent as me for a LOT nicer of a place. do research and dont trust the management. I have lived here since July 2009 and I love the people here, my new neighbor is loud but we have spoken to him and he has turned it down. I dont mind the train, its not that loud and Im right next to it. But I certainly dont like the one way road and having to go all the way around the freeway, but its well worth the price and 500 for a 2 bedroom is GREAT!
