Diablo Terrace is a great place to live. 1 and 2 bedroom units. Small quite 24-units in a garden type setting. We are within walking distance to schools, parks, shopping and public transportation. "I have found living at Diablo Terrace that the whole complex is kept up. The lights are always on at night which makes me feel safe when I travel late. The apartments are kept up and very nice. ATTENTION: Potential tenants!!! Im not writing this review to bash on the complex or to "vent" anger about my tenancy, but to explain things I experienced while living at Diablo Terrace. We got along with all of our neighbors. Friendly hellos in passing and there was never any loud disturbances. However the apartment complex next door was horrendous. We had to keep our windows closed at all times because they smoked a lot and the smell would linger into our apartment (cigarette and marijuana). They would have parties every weekend and it was very noisy. Now in regards to the management, I liked Barbara from day 1. She was rough around the edges but I felt like she was simply being honest about things. We never even saw her husband until after we moved in. My first encounter with him was the day after we moved in. I was walking to the mailbox and he was walking down the stairs, I smiled at him and he gave me an unnecessary dirty look. I couldn't believe how rude he was to the new tenants! I never once saw him ... A week after we had moved in, a friend of ours came to visit and she parked in an uncovered spot (because that's how MOST apartment complexes distinguish between tenant and guest parking) and the managers husband came out of their apartment yelling at her and said "what the hell do you think you're doing?! You can't park there!" He is beyond rude and inconsiderate and should have no contact with any of the tenants. I also witnessed him yelling at Barbara a few times. I never felt safe outside of my apartment, and that certainly was not because of the area...it was because of HIM. We always kept the doors and windows shut and locked. Our blinds were never opened because I always felt like we were being watched. And it wasn't in a 'I'm the manager and want to watch over my community' type of watching, it was a creepy peeping tom kind of feel. We would take out the trash in the middle of the night because of the creepy vibes we got. There were a few times that I actually SAW one of them in their window just watching. I felt like there was no privacy. Their office hours are from 10am-4pm but they hardly ever make themselves available during those times. We would have stayed there longer if there were different people managing the complex. HE was definitely the reason for us moving. If you don't mind feeling like your privacy has been violated, or having a creepy rude man walking around scowling all the time and yelling at your guests (and sometimes YOU), then go for it.
