I love it here!! The apartments are spacious, upgraded, and clean. It is surprisingly quiet, especially given the size of the complex and my location next to one of the pools. The landscaping is gorgeous, and I always hear the relaxing sound of the babbling brook outside my patio. I never hear neighbors who live next to me. Everyone seems very friendly, most are in their 20s and 30s. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and the rent is affordable for the area - this is a great location!! DO NOT BELIEVE THEIR GREAT PROMISES ! I and my husband have lived in this community for more than 2 years already. What can I say: 1) Apartments are old and the roof is constantly giving you that "settling" noise ... creepy. 2) Management is rood and ignorant and it gets worse if you try to demand something you entitled to. They all in that office like a gang - don't think that if you talk to a higher management something will change. It won't. The reason is that they covering for each other and the corporate office doesn't know anything about what is going on there. 3) Heated pools - no, only one small pool is barely heated during winter time! 4) Very limited laundry amenities for so many apartments - 4 small laundry rooms for 500 apartments! 5) Utility bills are just unbelievable! Water usage fee is calculated by dividing total building water bill by apartments counting only number of people in the lease. Not all residents add everyone in the lease! How about kids? Most of them are not in the lease but it does not ... I and my husband have lived in this community for more than 2 years already. Most of them are not in the lease but it does not mean they do not use water!!!! Moreover, they have a separate company that manages bills and sends you the invoice for rent and all utilities and you pay a HIDDEN FEE for their use of that company services. For example, from the moment they started using this new company (since about middle of 2009) I noticed some kind of "electricity delivery" fee of $47 in addition to electricity usage fee! Very convenient for them! They got of their shoulders lots of work and you pay for that! During winter I used their heater overnight only and my electricity bills were $150 !!! For one bedroom apartment! 6) Mainly. You will be told there is a security guard at night but only during our stay here (2.5 years) one apartment has been robbed and 2 or 3 cars have been robbed! I personally have been robed. We leave on the 2-nd floor and someone used ladder to claim on our balcony and stole our bike at night! Somehow our security guard NEVER saw anything!!!! And, of course, management office is not responsible for anything!!!! The tricky thing is that everyone who works for MV lives there! Security including! So, those security guys sit home at night and only come out if someone calls and complains! 7) Guest parking is very limited and practically unavailable on the weekend! The guest parking spots are divided on those that are only until 12am and the overnight ones. Well, guest what, there are only about 10 of overnight parking spots for 500 apartments! 8) Buildings are old and walls are cracking from those small earthquakes. I have 3 big cracks in my 1 bedroom apartment! Management said they can not do anything about it, only paint it over the crack. Joke. 9) Be carefully ordering something on-line and not being home when the package is delivered! I had mine stolen and never was able to find what happened. UPS just leaves it at the door and that's it... Bottom line, there are better places out there. It will never be about you in this place, if you are an inconvenience for someone in the office. Watch out or better stay away from this place!!! We are moving out. Show full review
